Before I came to the office for my interview, I would have said the clients and the work the company is doing. After meeting everyone and having (several) drinks, it’s definitely the team. Not only are they clearly excellent at what they do, each one is uniquely hilarious and mad.
When my dreams of becoming a famous playwright without going to the effort of actually writing any plays crashed and burned, I joined a local London magazine as an intern. Two years later, I was an editor in charge of three magazines and, although not penning Tony-winning stage productions, I was able to write every day.
After working there for three years, I tried my hand at freelancing and began focusing more on digital copywriting for agencies. After the rigidity of a print magazine, I found the format liberating and exciting.
Being the loudmouth that I am, sitting home alone or in cafés, tapping away at my keyboard didn’t really suit me, so I joined a tech start-up as Content and SEO manager. I spent just over a year there, learning the ins and outs of different CRMs, creating content plans and producing daily blog posts.
I missed some of the variety I had while freelancing and so, not to sound too Goldilocks and the Three Bears, the tree feels just right.
