We'll Walk Across Hot Coals For Your Help. Literally.
We have just 3 days to raise £3,000 for one of the most credible children’s charities in the world. It’ll take you three minutes to help right now, and we’d much prefer you to do that than spend your time reading the rest of this post.

Firewalks are usually a demonstration of faith: faith in a cause and faith that, despite what your fear tells you, you can walk on fire and not get burned.
This November we are putting our faith in Rays of Sunshine, a charity that grants wishes for children between the ages of 3 and 18 who are living with serious or life-limiting diseases. These wishes give these kids the chance to forget their illness for a whole day and experience a little bit of magic all their own.
In order to make these dreams come true, Rays of Sunshine rely on donations from fundraisers and events. So, on the 1st of November, the whole team at the tree will be walking across the coals for them and hopefully emerging unscathed.
Meet the awesome Mason:
Mason is a Rays of Sunshine wish child who is six-years-old and from Hull, he is currently living with Cystic Fibrosis (CF), a genetic condition that affects the lungs. Due to this, he must visit hospital regularly for treatment, daily medication and chest physiotherapy.
CF is a life-limiting illness that will continue to cause new complications throughout Mason’s life. Despite everything he’s been through, Mason is a lovely little boy who is full of life and extremely friendly. His parents describe him as “always trying his best in everything he does and never letting his illness drag him down.”
In September, Rays of Sunshine granted Mason’s greatest wish to go to Disneyland Paris with his entire family and enjoy a break from hospital not thinking about his condition. The total cost of fulfilling Mason’s wish was £3,000. Your donation can help grant a wish just like Mason’s for another child who is also suffering from a life-limiting illness.
What can you do to help?

A little more about Rays of Sunshine
There are 49,000 children and young people living in the UK with a serious or life-limiting illness*. This figure is increasing every year.
Rays of Sunshine is a UK registered charity that grants wishes to children, aged three to 18 years old, living with serious or life-limiting illnesses. We believe that every child deserves to experience happiness and put their illness on hold – even if it is just for one day. Our vision is to make wishes come true and turn them into happy memories.
They do this by:
- Granting children’s individual wishes, however impossible the wish may seem
- Granting hospital ward wishes
- Organising events and outings for large groups of seriously ill children, such as a trip to Legoland and the Rays of Sunshine Concert
Wishes are as unique as children themselves. They give a child the chance to forget their illness and do something they could only dream of. Wishes make a child feel extra-special and bring them hope and happiness. They also provide families with treasured memories of happy times to look back on.
Whether a child wants to be a princess or a fireman for a day, go to Disneyland, visit Santa in Lapland, own an iPad or meet their favourite pop star, Rays of Sunshine works hard to make that wish come true.
