As the tree moves forward into new and exciting relationships, we found ourselves mixing with the stars at this year's Golden Foot Awards in Monaco. And it was something special...

With the who’s who of the footballing world, our corporate sponsorship and commercial content team were in their element as they discussed the beautiful game with the likes of Christiano Ronaldo, Yaya Toure and Wayne Rooney.

From London to Monte Carlo

The Golden Foot Awards is a prestigious, international football event. Each year, the finest players in the world are nominated for the Football Legend and Best Player of the Year Awards. To decide the Best Player of the Year, fans are invited to vote on the Golden Foot website, something that attracted 1.5 million voters last year.

The 4-day event takes place in Monte Carlo and the XII edition was marked by exceptional participation from film stars, great sporting legends, top business executives and important names from the fashion industry.

And the winner is...

This year, Andres Iniesta was crowned the ‘best over 28 football player for 2014’ when he was presented his Golden Foot award on Monday evening, becoming the first Barcelona FC star to have ever won this highly sort over prize.

We’ve become friends with World Champions Club’s Golden Foot Awards and are now supporting it with sponsorship of the event. It’s an exciting opportunity for brands entering or continuing to be seen as part of the game – we’re delighted to be onboard.

Delivering true return on investment from content

In my previous blog that explored delivering money from content I spoke about brands that are taking the initiative to recognise the commercial value of their media assets, and Golden Foot is no exception. Strategically thinking about the way your content can influence audiences and improve sales conversion is only part of the story. Brands that take the time to invest in what I would call ‘premium content’ will see the highest returns of investment in a world where branded content is king.
