Video continues to dominate the web.
Instagram has launched a new feature that recommends video channels in their Explore section based on a user’s likes. The channels include “Videos You Might Like” as well as “Featured” channels filled with videos on various topics.
The change comes just a month after the Facebook-owned app rolled out 60-second videos for all users, from the previous 15-second limit. Instagram has also made the use of video available to advertisers.
“As people share more videos than ever before, we’re making it easier to discover the ones you’ll love," Instagram wrote in a blog post about the news.
But what does this mean for marketers?
The change is a fairly small tweak, however it does hint at the idea of brands and marketers exploring more video advertising opportunities on Instagram.
The new video features are currently only available in the U.S., but will later be expanded to the rest of the world.
